Title: Holly Madison

Series: Sins of the Father #2

Author: Jen Khan

Release Date: September 2014

I'm Holly. I wear pencil skirts, heels, and never have a hair out of place. Well, that was until I met Tristan Holt. Now, my hair is always a freakin' wreck, whether it's due to being on the back of his motorcycle, or because he's pullin it. He's a dominant one. Either way, he's changed me, helped me to step outside of my comfort zone.
He's also a player, bad boy type who runs his own MMA gym on the outskirts of Tryon. His very own fight club, if you will. I wonder if there are rules there like in the movie. It's probably not that cool.
The man infuriates me, sets my blood to boil. I let him worm his way into my thoughts and my heart like a stupid, stupid little girl. Even worse? I can tell he is falling for me. That is, until he finds out about my secret.
Now, in my defense, I didn't even know it was as bad as it is until all of the horrifying pieces are put together.
My father continues to ruin my life one effing blow after another from the comfort of his very own jail cell. Oh yeah, I didn't tell you that he murdered a woman, did I? Well, watch how that blows up in my face.

***Warning*** This book is intended for adults 18 years and older. Descriptive sexual content and language.***

Before I knew it, I found myself pinned to the wall holding my breath, covering my mouth so that I didn’t scream at the top of my lungs.
The leggy blonde who I will now refer to as Giggles, because she giggled incessantly was well…giggling. Tristan was moaning. How the hell could he go from me last night to that in there tonight?
I heard the sound of a zipper followed by a male hiss and a female giggle/gasp. I thought I was going to be sick. My eyes roamed the hall leading to the office taking in the clothing that was discarded throughout. Then her lacy bra went sailing through the air in what seemed to be slow motion, like in one of those Bruce Willis action flicks, landing poetically at my feet.
My mouth watered and I could feel the bile slowly trudging up my throat. I needed to get the hell out of there and fast.
I squeezed my eyes and covered my ears when she giggled.
It was time to make my escape. I tilted my head back, opened my eyes looking to the heavens for guidance and thought, “God are you there? It’s me, Holly.” Nothing. “No?” Of course not.
“Leave your message after the beep” was more like the response I was used to.
I skirted by the office unnoticed only to be captured by Giggles’ lacy bra that had tangled itself firmly around my ankle and held on for dear life. I lifted my leg doing a one legged hop trying to shake it off but the damn thing wouldn’t give up. It had me in a death grip. I reached down, grabbed the bra, peeled it from my ankle and slung it behind me as I ran out the back door.

Title: Ball In Hand

Author: Libby Thomas

Genre: Contemporary Romance

When Sam Middleton catches her classy boyfriend in the throes of a supremely unclassy affair, she retreats to the comfort of a dingy bar that reminds her of home. There, a much younger man entices her to play a game of pool.

He needs a roommate. She needs a place to stay. One thing leads to another and Sam finds herself moving into an apartment building full of college boys. Sam is not easily enticed by the bevy of young studs, but the ambient testosterone causes Sam to reevaluate her position and thrust herself back into the dating pool-table that is.

Dating is much more fun now that she is older, wiser, and the ball is in her hand-so to speak.

When you find your boyfriend tied to a bed with another woman, all you want is to get out of there. For Sam it would be easier if she didn't live in the same apartment, her only solution is to try to find a place to live that isn't too expensive. She needs a home with a little urgency and cheap, that's why she goes to live with two college guys. One of the students is Max Holder, who at the end of the night when Sam was drowning her sorrows, tried to get lucky in the room with her. In drunken state in which Sam was, the age difference only occurred to her when they were getting without clothes.
For Luke Holder, Max's brother, things didn't go so well, one day when he arrives home from work his girlfriend have her bags by the door and ready to leave, he doesn't stop her.
While Sam works in a animal shelter, Luke is a professor at the University, both are at the age to form a family and have a house, but sometimes being alone is better than to be with someone.
When the two meet, Sam is already living with the guys and Luke goes to his brother's house, not knowing Luke enters in the bathroom without knocking to find himself face to face with Sam wrapped in towel, freshly bath. Although the 'meeting' have been brief, neither Luke or Sam can forget that moment. When together the attraction is there and comfort too, Sam is not ready for another relationship after what happened with her past one.
Ball in Hand is a novel that left me wanting for more, initially I was a little afraid because it is an older girl to move in with two college, and I had a bad experience with another book that was also 'Girl goes to live with four other guys'. It is the first book I read by the author, we can laugh with this one, the relationship between the Holder brothers is fantastic, it's so sweet that sometimes it's like you are one of the characters. I think it's a comfy read, fast, impossible to stop as soon as you start reading. I loved the fact that it talks about a animal shelter and how sometimes the more 'cute' dogs are those who can more easily get a family, and shows that sometimes the family doesn't want the animals because they became too big or because they simply don't want then anymore, which is a sad reality.

Author Interview Questions

Do you ever experience writer’s block?

Not yet.  I get some anxiety at about the two thirds mark.  I get a sinking sensation that it’s not going to be enough.  But after a few days of stress I gather my courage and finish the book.

Do you work with an outline, or just write?

I just write.  I have an outline in my head but I don’t write it down.  I just sit and write with the goal of 10,000 words a week.  Most weeks I fall short.

Can you tell us about your challenges in getting your first book published?

The biggest challenge in self publishing for me has been just learning the ropes.  Thankfully I have connected with some amazing people who are happy to help a newbie get through the hoops.

Have you written a book you love that you have not been able to get published?

I have only written two at this time and I love them both and I plan to self publish both of them.  All hail the digital age.

How did you come up with the title?

After rereading the book for editing I realized what an integral part of the story the pool table is.  So I searched a list of billiards terms and Ball in Hand had the sort of double entendre I was looking for.

AVISO: Para idades maduras! » +18

WARNING: For mature crowd! » +18

Indiscretion: Volume One

F*ck and chuck. Pump and dump. Hit it and quit it. One night stand. Didn’t matter how I branded it—that’s all she had wanted it to be. That much was clear when she left me with my pants down and my dick still out.
What she hadn’t counted on was fate intervening and our worlds colliding—again.
The day I showed back up in the life of Chloe Griffins, I knew I had to have her again. My body was hungry for another taste. Like an addict, I’d been craving another hit for months, and there she was—flesh and bone, tits and ass.
The fact that she worked for the competition should’ve been reason enough for me to leave her alone. I had a job to do that summer and f*cking Chloe wasn’t part of it. But I was like a man possessed.
I’d do whatever it took to have her again.

"I could see from here—this guy was smokin’. And not like a ‘let’s cook some marshmallows over the fire’ kind of smokin’. He was three-alarm blaze, call-in-the-water-bombers smokin’."

In the first line started laughing. Chloe is in her best friends bachelorette party, Jackie, who is giving her a bad time for not having fun and letting herself get carried away by the moment and see the what's arround her. Chloe believes that her prince charming doesn't exist, In her life she has lost people that she loved the most (for different reasons), so she believes that she'll never find the right man for her to spend the rest of her life with, as Jackie found hers.
When looking around the bar she sees a pair of blue eyes that leave her fixed to them, not to mention his body is to die for, but Chloe finds that the owner of these eyes is a lot of sand for her truck. With the help of the drink and the insistence of her friend, Chloe ends up opening more and tries to enjoy the night.

"I could see from here—this guy was smokin’. And not like a ‘let’s cook some marshmallows over the fire’ kind of smokin’. He was three-alarm blaze, call-in-the-water-bombers smokin’."

When going out of the bathroom she notices that there are urinals, in the ladies room that's no necessary, in her drunken state she didn't even notice what signal was at the door. Chloe goes to the door but it opens and she takes it in her face, she feels hands arround her, making her stay put, that's when she looks up and see the pair of blue eyes.

Max always gets everything he wants, and he wanted Chloe since he'd seen her in the other side of the bar. He ask her to take a drink, she says yes and they are out to have a drink in a VIP room which leads to one night stand. She does not believe that was able to have sex with a stranger in a bar, so she asks permission to go cool off and ultimately leave it alone and go home.

Two months later, Chloe is on the floor of her office in a compromising position and hears footsteps and then a voice close to her that she recognizes. This is where Max and Chloe found each other after her abrupt getaway, during that time apart neither of them could forget that night in New York.
This book has the points of view of both main characters, is a smaller book because it is only volume one. It is a captivating story where on one hand we have Chloe who likes to use words that nobody else knows and thinks because of what happened in her past she will never find a soul mate, she's so dedicated to work and think one night stand is what she needed. On the other hand we have Max who comes from a different social level, is confident, doesn't accept 'no' for an answer so he always gets what he want, just like Chloe he is dedicated to work and a long term relationship is also not what he's looking for.
It is a light reading, ideal to read in an afternoon on the beach (cold water helps), when you finish this you'll want to read the other and the next and the final one.

Indiscretion: Volume Two (Indiscretion, #2)

Fraternizing with the competition? Check.
Risking everything I’d worked so hard for? Check.
Mind-shattering orgasms? Double check.
Max Richfield made me forget myself. Forget all the reasons why I’d chosen to be alone for so long. I had goals. I needed stability. He brought chaos. I’d taken years erecting my walls. And with good reason, I would soon discover.
Now my inability to see beyond Max’s charm could cost me everything.
